Bearsden Choir is always looking for enthusiastic singers. Although being able to sight-read music is desirable, it isn’t essential provided you have a good ear, are enthusiastic and willing to learn. Contact us and come along to one of our rehearsals to find out more.
Our Season extends from late August to mid May and weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings in the New Hall of New Kilpatrick Church Bearsden from 7.30pm to 10.00 pm. The choir undertakes at least four performances every season in a range of venues, previously The City Halls, St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The Barony, RCS and Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries. We sing a wide range of musical styles and perform works by composers from the traditional to the entirely contemporary. We enjoy singing with highly acclaimed professional soloists and orchestras.
Contact us to find out when you can attend a rehearsal or to receive more information about the choir. Once you have decided on pursuing your membership, you will be invited to audition. This simply allows the Musical Director to assess your suitability and check which section of the choir you should sing in. Don’t worry! We try to make them as informal as possible!
Of course the Bearsden Choir season isn’t all solemnity and hard work: intense rehearsals are always relieved by laughter – and there are several social events during the year. So why not think of joining us?
