Winter Concert 2019

The Durruflé Requiem, completed in 1947, was originally commissioned by the Vichy regime but took years to complete. The piece is a great favourite of the Bearsden Choir.

The title of Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem (Granbt Us Peace) is taken from Agnus Dei of the Mass. First performed in October 1936 its text is taken from a number of sources including the Mass itself, the poetry of Walt Whitman and the Bible.

The works taken together provide a moving remembrance and we hope you will join us for this memorable event.
